Maxim Dondyuk (born in 1983, Ukraine) is a visual artist working with documentary photography. His professional career began in Ukrainian media as a photojournalist in 2007. Since 2010 he is a freelancer, works on creating and promoting his own documentary projects. In 2011 Dondyuk received Noor-Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography in Bucharest. His works were awarded with different grants and awards, including, finalist of the Prix Pictet Photography Prize, winner of the Prix Photo La Quatrieme Image, winner of the Ville de Perpignan Remi Ochlik Award, Magnum Photos competition ‘30 under 30’ for emerging documentary photographers, finalist of the W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography,〔(Finalist of the W. Dondyuk's projects are ‘Uman, Rosh Hashana',〔(Uman, Rosh Hashana project. )〕 2008-2012, about celebration of the Jewish New Year in one of the biggest centers of Jewish pilgrimage outside Israel, in Uman (Ukraine); ‘The Crimea Sich',〔(The Crime Sich project. )〕 2010-2013, about military patriotic camp for children and future Cossacks; ‘TB epidemic in Ukraine',〔(TB epidemic in Ukraine project. )〕 2010-2012, Dondyuk opened hushed tuberculoses problem in Ukraine, which managed to reach the national status. Since winter 2013-2014 Dondyuk documented historical events that happen in his country, Euromaidan in Kyiv, annexation of the Crimea by Russia, war in the East of Ukraine. Dondyuk photographs have been published in ''Time,'' ''Der Spiegel,'' ''Stern,'' ''Paris Match,'' ''Rolling Stone,'' ''Photo District News,'' ''Bloomberg Businessweek,'' ''Russian Reporter,'' ''Libération,'' ''Polka,'' ''6Mois'' and ''Esquire.''
